In the process of expansion, Guan Joo Seng will renovate its shop lot, maybe relocated to the nearby business centre with better fire protection and theft prevention system. Better technology application especially in security, telecommunication and computerization, accounting, cashier and filing will be progresses gradually towards modernization from traditional model. Systematic approach applied in the new labelling method, filing and record for salesman and creditors are to be improved from time to time. Promotional methods that have been previously done via oral and friendships, are expected to be expanded where posters of sales, bonus coupons, postcards, T-shirt distribution for loyal customers etc. Publicity via free television and radio column, new website, stickers etc are to be considered.





SYSTEM MODIFICATION FOR TRANSITION FROM TRADITIONAL TOWARDS PROFESSIONAL MODEL
Due to the potential competition from surrounding stores, the commodity sold will not
be fully similar to the competitors where Guan Joo Seng will try its best to obtain the cheapest products to be sold at reasonable prices for highest profit. Certain wet items like vegetables, packeted foods, ice-cream, tofu etc that have not been sold previously could be considered. The areas of the shop lot too could be considered to expand, allowing hardware, stationery and foods sold. Other services like agency services from relatives and friends, for example, motorcycle repair, flower pot, seafood, pottery etc could be considered as a part of business expansion projects.
SIMILARITY IN SUNDRY BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGICAL INVESTMENT AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PROMOTION
Currently Malaysian government especially Penang is looking for industrial and business partners overseas to invest in the region where many discounts are provided for foreign companies to conduct businesses in the areas, benefit for both investors and local entrepreneurs. In view of such encouragement provided similarly for finance and supermarkets, tertiary and secondary education sectors, there is a drive to attract foreign departmental store to introduce new management operation for local businesses via technological input and innovative business execution ideas.
